It was used to control a whole range of equipment, such as LeTourneau Carryall Scrapers, H3 Rooter and the M20 Crane. I'm not sure what references you have, but the references I'm using have photos of most of the combinations you are asking about.ġ) The LeTourneau R7 Control Unit was not just used to control blades. I like to have photographical verification of such a dozer first.ĭoes anybody have a photo of a D7(or D8) hydraulic blade, armored cab with a rear mounted Hyster winch? I want to remove the double reel rear-mount cable drive (LeTourneau) from the armored cab hydraulic blade unit(which for some reason has the double reel cable drive unit mounted) and replace it with a Hyster winch(which is feasibly a possibility), but would like to actually see a photo of something like that, so I am not just doing it on my own. Does anybody have photos of a Hyster winch mounted on an armored cab unit. I have not seen actual photos of them mounted on armored cab units. I have seen lots of D7 and D8s with winches mounted on the back. ![]() These Hyster winches were frequently mounted to dozers. Anybody know anything specific about it?Ģ) One of the dozer kits is just a crawler(no blade assembly), but it also has the rear-mounted Hyster cable winch. This mating of a LeTourneau double reel cable unit with a hydraulic blade seems doubtful. Is anybody out there familiar enough to explain this to me. I have a fair number of good dozer reference books, and cannot find any photos of this improbable combination. So why, on the hydraulic blade dozer with armored cab-surround, does it have that double reel rear mounted blade elevator? It serves no purpose at all. That double reel rear-mounted unit would not be needed on a hydraulic blade, since the hydraulic cylinders move the blade up and down. There are also armored cab or enclosed cab version of the LeTourneau type and the hydraulic type.ġ) On the LeTourneau units, either armored or not, the rear mounted double reel cable unit is required to drive the overhead blade elevator. Last, there is a hydraulic driven blade dozer, so essentially, three variants. Then there is the beautiful LeTourneau overhead cable driven blade dozers, that uses the double-reel cable unit on the rear of the dozer. One kit is just a crawler-type dozer, with a Hyster winch unit on the back. ![]() I am building several of the kits, and have a few reference-type questions. I am sure everybody is familiar with them. MiniArt made a number of CAT D7 dozer kits.
